Apai (playful acronym of beehive) arises in 1999 from the meeting of young engineers and computer scientists working on WebAppalti, Liguria Region's managerial for the production, management and publication of Public Proclamations of Farming. WebAppalti is awarded at the PA Forum in 2000, in the innovation category.
Apai is officially founded at the end of 2001 in the form of Limited Liability Company.
The first big project was Nsiga, system for the management of the new administrative justice, on behalf of Rome State Council. Complex and distributed software, able to manage huge heavy workloadsby means of the most advanced technology of Java Enterprise.
Apai begins to collaborate with University and other research centers in order to train young people ables to work at high level in sophisticated and exigent industrial contexts.
For this sake, APAI creates an opensource project named Apai Domo, supported by Pisa University, Bticino Spa and Sun Microsystems. Apai Domo become little by little, the context for testing new and revolutionary computer technologies and training working resources to insert in the company, by means of degree thesis projects. Each Apai resource come from an attentive selection and training path, assuring professional skills and high level technologies.
Apai's team, took part in the H3g Italia startup, worked for Vodafone, Siemens, IBM, Italian Government Administration and Fastweb, apart from innumerable projects for little and big, italian and international companies.
In 2005 Apai develops on behalf of Italtel Spa, the configuration system of static routes for Telecom Italia Voip switchboards.
In 2006 the collaborations with University and research centres spread to Parma, Genova, Bari and Padova athenaeums as well as Bologna's Enea and Pisa's Cnr research centres.
In 2008 it become pulsating centre of the project for the new criminal justice, in the care of the engineering and systems consortium (ISI) on behalf of the Justice Department.
From its foundation Apai never renounced to its status of Software House, concentrating its efforts in the development of its products and solutions.
In 2004 Apai become the only Vistascape European Certified Reseller. Vistascape is an american company, leader in the anti-terrorism and anti-robbery security. It takes part as system integrator to the american installations in San Diego's seaport, in Atlanta and Knoxville airport and several other civil and militar sites.
In the same year Apai opens Milano's office.
In 2005 starts the campaign of sale assistance and system integration for the EMEA market, facing installations for Poland and other european countries.
At the end of 2007, Apai invests its resources in the project named Aisac, gathering its Apai Domo technologic and research experience, together with the skills acquired in the smart security and in the mobile and Voip telecommunication.
Aisac is officially presented to the market in october 2008 and it wins the "Security and Safety Award 2008", innovation category, at Milano's Security Fair.
In 2007 Apai procreates the no profit association Tecknos, meeting point among research, university, formation, entreprise and young people.
In 2009 Apai develops its own product "micorrizza", in partnership with Grok 42, system devised by Arsia - Toscana Region for the guidance and the accessibility to the publiched proclamations.
Again in 2009 come to life the Web Tv project Atapa, in partnership with Atai Cross Media Company, of which Apai holds the 50%.
